Welcome back beautiful people! As you may know, I actually made some New Year’s Resolutions for 2017. This is something I don’t usually do, but since I came up with a really fun one, I decided to just go with it. My main resolution was the following:

“In 2017, I want to either visit another country OR go to a live performance AT LEAST once a month.”

Now let me tell you how I have been doing this year so far:

January

After just coming back home from studying in Leeds for one semester, I decided to spend my Erasmus Grant (that you receive when going on an exchange) on a flight to go and see my sister in French Guiana (South America). So I first took a bus from Rotterdam to Paris (note that this bus goes via Belgium) and spent the night there. The next morning my mom took me to the airport and I flew to French Guiana. As if that wasn’t enough, my sister and I also went to Suriname for a day, simply because we could.

February

This month was a lot calmer, simply because I had just started my work placement for Amsterdam Marketing. However, I still managed to stick to my resolution and went to see As It Is perform in the Melkweg in Amsterdam. Okay, As It Is was actually only supporting State Champs (photo above), but that still counts!

March

This was a fun one, I went to Hannover in order to surprise one of the kids of the family that I used to be an au-pair for. I still find it hard to believe that she is actually 18 years old now, especially since I was only 17 when I moved in with them. I took pretty much no photos that weekend, hence the blurry photo above, ah well!

Going to Hannover wasn’t all I did that month: I also flew myself and my mom out to Dublin for a day (photo 1). My mom flew back that same night, whereas I flew over to Newcastle where I met up with my lovely friend Elena (photo 2) and where we went to see Mallory Knox perform (photo 5. I got you! It is photo 3. Obiously). Great. Bloody. Weekend!

April

April started bloody fantastic as well; Elena and I took a bus from Newcastle to  Leeds, where I spent a few days with my old flatmates. It was absolutely wonderful to see their beautiful faces again and getting to spend some time with them. The weekend flew by way to fast and before I knew it, I was back in the office in Amsterdam.

Although this wasn’t a concert or a trip, I still wanted to include VidCon here, simply because it included a lot of live shows. I have seen so many YouTubers, creators and talked to so many people from all over the world, it just had to be mentioned.

May

May started off with a visit to my mom, who happens to live in France. My sister and I took a bus from Rotterdam to Paris (as per usual) and met up with my mom. We went up the Arc de Triomphe (see photo above) and of course visited Disneyland while we were at it as well.

The weekend after, my sister and I went to see Mallory Knox (photo 1) in Utrecht, which was yet another amazing performance. They were supporting Enter Shikari (photo 2 & 3) which was surprisingly cool. At the end of the month, I went to Hannover again, for another weekend of fun. I don’t have any photos of that, but I promise it happened. I am not making this up!

June

Just like most months, June started off fantastic. The first of June I got the pleasure of going to Powerfest, a festival here in Amsterdam with some amazing bands. The second until the fourth of June, I went over to Hulst for Vestrock festival. It was bloody amazing!

That is pretty much how things are right now. Except for, the month isn’t over yet and my dad and I will be going on a little road trip this Sunday. I have a lot more planned this year and I am planning on sticking to my resolution for a whole lot longer. Stay tuned for more adventures & fun !

Love,

Dagmar
