Welcome back lovely people, how are you doing?

First of all; you may know that I have been doing a bit of travelling over the summer, and I would like to give you a quick overview of the places that I have been to. My aim was to travel around the UK and Ireland for about a month, but I am pretty flexible and ended up skipping Ireland to see more of the UK (and because I was sick, but screw that!) instead. I would really recommend all of the places I visited, as they all have their own unique vibe and beauty. You can click on each destination for my adventures in that place and perhaps it inspires you to visit as well ūüôā

Leeds: To visit my fantastic friend Elena.

Sheffield: To check out Tramlines Festival.

Oxford: To stay with my old flatmate Ben & to visit Truck Festival.

Leeds: Simply to pick up Elena and head over to:

Edinburgh: Because I heard it is beautiful up there.

Glasgow & Loch Lomond: For some reason I have always wanted to visit Glasgow, so I did!

Leeds & Sheffield: Because we got ill and decided to go back to Leeds and get better, after which I checked out Sheffield for a second time to explore a bit more.

Nottingham: Because I had made a friend from there after visiting Sheffield the first time and decided to check out the city. It was absolutely insane and the music scene is great!

London & Kingston: To visit another friend I had made back in Amsterdam and discover Kingston.

Brighton: Because I heard many good things about this place and since it’s quite close to London: why not?!

London: To spend another weekend in this amazing city and eventually… fly back to Amsterdam.

Secondly, I would like to tell you about what I am doing now that I am back in Amsterdam. The first thing I did when I came back was sleep. I really needed sleep. Second up was laundry, because yeah; I had been travelling for a month. All boring stuff out of the way, I had a few blogs to write, because I had been fallen behind on writing a little. I then met up with all of my friends that I hadn’t seen in a while and that’s pretty much it. I have been looking for a job online, but barely applied for anything because I just haven’t seen anything that I really want to be doing. Besides that, uni started again last week, so it’s not like I don’t have anything to do.

I feel super restless though, because people around me are busy working, whereas I don’t have a job. I am really doubting, because my teachers strongly advise us not to get a job in the last year of our studies. Besides that, I want flexibility. If I suddenly decide to catch a plane to Italy this weekend, I want to be able to do so. I know I sound super spoiled right now, but thing is: I worked my absolute butt off in the previous years, and I am still living of the money I made back then. I don’t really need the job for the money so much (thanks government for paying for my studies!) but I feel like I need it to… I don’t know… not feel lazy? I feel really lazy right now, even though I have lots to do.

Part of me is also thinking that perhaps I shouldn’t get a job, but try to get my blog up and going instead. I don’t know about that. In my eyes, my blog is just a hobby. I don’t think it will ever become my full time job, simply because I want to write on it whenever I want to. That’s why I like my blog, but if it’s a proper job, people will have expectations and then you will have to perform. If I write a blog that I am not happy with, I don’t want to upload it. But if it’s your job, you may¬†have to.¬†By the way, I am talking about flexibility, but you can still expect new blogs on each¬†Wednesday¬†and¬†Sunday!

I don’t know why I have become so restless and all, but I can’t really help it. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I have been travelling this summer and haven’t really stayed in one place for more than a couple of days. I think it also has to do with the fact that so many of my family members and friends now live abroad, that I feel the need for flexibility so much more. I want to just be able to pack my bags and go to my mom when I feel like it.

Anyways, enough of my spoiled brat-talking, I would like to end this blog on a positive note. I love my life, I really do. Last Sunday I wrote a blog about happiness, and I am still really satisfied with what I wrote. If you haven’t read it yet, I would kindly ask you to do so and to let me know what you think of it:¬†HAPPINESS BLOG. Happiness is super important in our daily life, so I want to know what makes you happy. Please let me know!
